Blogiquette

Being new to all this, please could I ask your advice. . .
When someone leaves a comment, is it preferable to reply on the post on which it was left, or go to the author's blogspot and leave an answer there?
Unfortunately, Lady Troubridge's Book of Etiquette, which is usually my fail-safe guide on all matters of manners has cast no light on this subject (although I have learnt how to write an appropriate reference for a slatternly kitchen maid!).

How lovely to see your blog Elaine, I have been buying from you for years :-)

I never answer my questions in my comments box but go to the persons blog and answer there but some people answer in their comment box. You just do what feels right for you, there is no right or wrong way in this case. At least I think so, I have been blogging for 5 years now and have always done it that way ;-)

Slatternly?

yes, Lady T has firm views on appearance "..no man can be expected to employ a girl whose hair is untidy and ill-brushed, whose hands are not nicely kept and whose clothes are ill put on..."
Well that would make me unemployable then!

I think in that case I would be unemployable too, most days I am to be found with wild hair, wearing paint splatterd clothes and ponging of turps.
I did however look that word up...Slatternly means characteristic of or befitting a slut or slattern; used especially of women - blowsy, blowzy, sluttish and untidy.. Ok maybe I am not the slut bit though haha x

Oh Emma- my husband's a painter and decorator, I fell in love to the pong of turps! :))

So glad to see you on the blogs, have been following you on Ebay for years, I even have a couple of vintage goodies that I have bought off you in the past.

I am just off now to put a comb through my wild locks, dig out my nail file and run an iron over my pinney.....

Hi Elaine!
Like Donna, I visit the commentors blog and write a reply there, which just feels right for me. But either way which suits you would, I'm sure, make the Lady Troubridge's (should that be Lady Troublog?) happy...
One extra thought, as you're a new blogger, writing a reply on somebody else's blog would attract more visitors to your blog. The more you visit and leave comments, the more visitors you receive. Which is rather lovely isn't it?
