New neighbours in the Nursery

This is the first glimpse of our new neighbours in the field this morning.

Understandably, the mothers were very protective of their new offspring,
so I kept my distance and made good use of the zoom on my new camera!

The small Nursery field has trees to give shade and shelter to the calves,

often the mothers will leave a creche of sleeping calves
under the watchful eye of an adult while they feed on the lush grass.

I'll do some more posts as they grow older.

Lovely aren't they? I love this time of year. I had no idea until last year just how small newborn calves are.

I love having neighbors who have lots of animals. I get the thrill of watching them without the responsibility of looking after them.
The babies are the best!

If this is indicative of a quirky life, I'm moving in to your house! I love these cattle or cows or what ever you call them in a group. They are gorgeous. I would be out there all day watching them taking care of their young. Good thing I don't have cows...they be invited into the house! kim xxoo Hugs to Kit!

Thanks so much Debbie for my award, I will accept and pass it on next week.

These calves are so gorgeous, I'll do more pics of them as they grow- as they get bigger they change fields and live right outside the front door (but behind a big fence!)
