Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

No. . .

the dark shape soaring through the air is a 16 year old black cob (who should know better by now), ruled by his tummy deciding that true to the saying, the grass IS always greener on the other side

and with the greatest of ease popping out of his paddock over 3ft of  electric fence which is run off the mains making it VERY POKEY!! (I can vouch for that last statement personally- ouch!!)
to gorge himself in the "resting" field.

My name is Bruce. . .

and. . .

I'm a. . .

food-aholic

Somebody pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
feed me!!!!!!

(I can tell you, my heart stopped beating when I went to fetch him in yesterday and he wasn't there)

Oh I know that heart stopping experience very well...
But now he's safely in his stable, I have to say a loud "Go Bruce! Who says fences are for the young 'uns?"

Not long until we visit your fair ............ !!!!!!

Aren't they just unbelievable?! Barnaby is eyeing up the grass by the manege as we speak. Only an electric fence and a ditch to cross - piece of cake. Can't help noticing Bruce's socks are very white!

So maybe he is an Olympic jumper, providing there is food on the other end of the winners ribbon. We had a jumper too, totally ruled by her stomach and electric fences never held her back...Bruce is SO cute!!!

Hi Elaine
I am a country girl but have never been keen on horses, too unreliable, give me 2 or 4 wheels any day! However it must have been awful for you to find Bruce had vanished, why don't you both have a lavender muffin (purely medicinal)

Bruce is a travelin' man! I love his name..how did you ever think to name him Bruce..he looks like a Bruce, actually. I hope you just shook your finger at him and told him "no,no" and then kissed his horse lips!
Kiss Kit's cat lips for me too. They are so fun to read about...I guess you'll be gettin' animal slobber all over you this week...but let me tell ya...I think it's better than human slobber!

Oh Bugger! He is a naughty boy! I am having the same trouble with my calf and the bull at the moment....'what electric fence' aaaaaahhhhh! the bull is stretching all the wires into the horse paddock because he has learnt that the hay feeder is in there and it is short grass which is much less trouble to eat! Good luck with a solution :-)

Thanks for you comments re my falling over (more water with it next time!) - I was being quite flippant at first, but actually it is quite a shock to the system (especially at my age!!)- I've been quite tearful since. A nice cup of tea, as you say! Thanks!
