Tomorrow is Another Year. . .

Not often do I have a moan, nor do I wish to use this blog to offload my miseries but they say it's good to share. . .

I got in the pick-up to drive off, remembered to unload the sack of chicken feed and reversed back to the gate. Unfortunately I forgot Ted's car was parked behind me.
Well no, I didn't FORGET I just didn't LOOK
A large 4 x 4 rear bumper shoved through light clusters and radiator is not a good look for a Mercedes.

2 eBay parcels destined as Christmas presents have not arrived at their destination, despite queuing in the PO for 45 minutes on consecutive days in order to get them sent out promptly.
Both buyers declined the option of Special Delivery.
You know there were mail problems and bad weather, I know there were mail problems and bad weather (believe me I know!) but both buyers are unfairly threatening negative feedback, which I really REALLY
don't want.

The date I wanted to hold the next Vintage Fair at the Village Hall in March is already booked, dates in April are very full with other fairs and I don't know whether to change the venue?
(Your input would be appreciated here)

My printer refused point blank to obey instructions one time too many
It was willful from the day it arrived.
A clash of personalities? No, just the most obnoxious, laziest printer in the world.
It had a good life, frequently fed with lovely cream paper (which it spat out for a pastime) and plenty of ink (if you could actually manage to fit a cartridge in).
It sat on the floor underneath my desk. Just by my feet. I'm not a violent person but. . .

I have a tooth abscess. Not what I wanted for New Years Eve.
I've looked through the fashion mags- dresses to disguise pear shapes, apple shapes, boyish shapes, busty shapes.
Nowhere does it tell you how to draw the eye away from gobstopper shapes.
Bring on the early night!

So, as 2010 comes to an end maybe my slate is clear for a brilliant 2011?
with a slight change to that immortal line. . ."Tomorrow is Another Year"

wishing you all the happiest of Happy New Years- may 2011 bring everything you want xx

You poor thing! Then again, it can always be worse so be POSITIVE, think of the good things! 2 of my Christmas packages have not arrived either. I am confident they will show up, just the weather and the Christmas rush has got them in some secret royal mail storage! I dont know what to say about the venue really, I think I would consider looking for another place if you can find one reasonably priced. Scarlett would say "Fiddle dee dee"!

Awww no, poor you, what a rubbish thing to happen with the car, and you know, it's an easy thing to do when there's so much on your mind. I'm sure everything will be ok with the fair, yes perhaps another venue close by (bigger and better!) is worth looking into to get the date you want... Happy New Year - it will be!

I would say that you have definitely finished the year with a bang! Which can only mean onto bigger and better things for 2011 :-) Hope your tooth is better soon. Happy New Year :-)

I would book the hall for NEXT YEAR immediately, as you think about what to do for this year. Probably I would look for an alternative venue...

I really hope your tooth is sorted out now.
I've had that and boy did it hurt, made me damn miserable.
Sending you a BIG cyber smile :0)
Happy New Year to you all...Em xxx

Oh, so in tune with you here... Ben is at the dentist's with an abcess today - what a grotty way for anyone to have to spend Christmas. Get very well very soon! And one of poor Ben's three Christmas presents to me is still Lost in Space somewhere, due to the postage problems - one arrived on time and the middle one came yesterday! So no one can blame YOU for the postal delays - they are happening everywhere! Have a really blessed 2011.

I think the powers that be at Ebay will understand and be on your side should a 'disagreement' arise.
It looked a lovely venue, but if they can't come through with the dates you have to look elsewhere.
Soooo sorry to hear about the accident and the abscess. Hope you get both sorted really soon.
btw - I went into Google Images to find a lily of the valley pic for my friend's birthday and what should come up but Ted and Bunny's pic. It was a link to your Lily of the Valley tin on Ebay! Lovely tin but out of my price range unfortunately. But what a surprise to come across you so unexpectedly!
Have a wonderful New Year despite everything. xx

OH Gosh, Miss Elaine...looks like you are in need of "40 acres and a mule" (also one of my favorite sayings from this movie epic!
WEll I say that if all this bad happened just at the end of the year...the new year has got to be better!
'Chin up' is what they say...but "Lawdy, Miss Elaine, I don't know nothin' 'bout face lifts"!
Wishing you and all of us a Happy New Year!

Miss Bunny, oh dear! As I am reading your blog with one flat as a pancake pavlova and the 2nd attempt in the oven, sorbet in the freezer that won't set and a rib of beef that I have had in the fridge that has a distinct whiff about it, I am thinking that these things are not too bad!
I am soooo sorry about your pain (all of it infact) such a lovely person as you does not deserve it.
I will email you re V@theVH.
At least Bruce is behaving himself?!

You poor thing. Deep sympathy and hugs coming your way from 'up north' (not as quality as a southern hug, though, but one does ones best!) I do hope everything sorts itself out soon, especially the abscess. How do you get a dentist on New Year's Eve? Happy New Year to you though. 2011 is going to be a good one, I can feel it in my bones! (And have you ridden Bruce yet? Barnaby is a loon!)

Oh dear, you certainly have a way of writing about disasters to make them sound amusing...well to the reader anyway, certainly not the receiver.

All the best for 2011 and I hope you manage to get the evilbay business sorted out. I just got a parcel yesterday that was sent over three weeks ago now.

Oh dear, what a rotten chapter of accidents - I think the ebay buyers particularly mean, we're still getting Christmas cards posted between 12th and 18th December.
All very best wishes for the New Year and I especially hope you get the tooth sorted as I know how horrid that is.
Love Jane xx

Oh dear, poor you - have a glass of wine ( or 3)! That's why I hate ebay! Even when I've had the misfortune to be displeased I have NEVER left negative feedback. Hope your tooth abcess can be sorted soon. At least you know that the beginning of 2011 can only get better!

My husband reversed into my car earlier this year so I know how you feel. It's easy to do when you're in a hurry. All the best for next year.

Well you are certainly ending the year in a big way. I do hope that the new year (whcih is already here in Australia) brings many wonderful moments your way. Ouch to the abcess, I had one a long time ago, horrid things.
Printers, they arn't all they are cracked up to be.
Oh and what do people expect, it's Christmas and the post is clogged with extra mail.

Well now...You have had some nasty luck haven't you? Take heart, I think I have it figured out..You see, luck has actually been on your side. How is that you ask? It is really quite simple, all of these things were supposed to happen in the new year and since we are all wishing you a good and happy 2011 it had to be crammed in before the 1st, so this will be the last of it. Happy New Year!!

So sorry to hear about all these bad things that happened !
We had several problems in November, so I understand how you're feeling.
Dear Elaine, I wish you all the best for 2011, that all your wishes may come true !

Hi Elaine
I know how you feel. So far the dishwasher went wrong last night, we have a leak under the sink in the utility room and the high level toilet cistern is playing up!!! Lets hope 2011 improves. A very Happy New Year to you and Ted, and please let me know about the next fair as I would love to come to it.

Poor you! I hope that today has brought better things - especially tooth-wise! As for the ebay buyers - hope that with a few days distance from the madness of Christmas they will come to their senses and realise that these things do happen, especially given recent weather! The fair venue was lovely, but as previously suggested, I know you could make a success of a bigger venue!

Out with a whimper in with a bang....
The post has been a nightmare this Christmas, some chocolate I sent to my aunt took 1 1/2 months to get to Baltimore and three of my Etsy sales only just made it in time but my suctomers were vewry understanding I have to say.
Hope the tooth will soon feel a little better, try numbing it with whisky - at least that will dull the senses.
Anyway Elaine hope that 2011 will be a good one for you all

Looks like my typing skills will need brushing up for 2011....

Try the Allendale Centre. Bigger venue, cafe on site, still have YOUR cake and tea stall though/but you don't have to? less worry?
I've held fairs here, and they were very reasonable for the hall hire, and professional to deal with.
Oh, and plenty of parking :0) And the added bonus of hubby's being able to wander through Wimborne while us ladies shop away at the fair ;0)
Have a much better begining to 2011 than you had at the end of 2010 :(
Take care,
Love Donna x
