"our" Little Owl

conversation last week at Bruce's stable:

Joanne: there's a little owl nesting in the hay barn

me: wow! what type of owl is he?

Joanne: Little. . .

Yesterday morning when I put Bruce out
there he was- happy to pose for photos on the roof!

Joanne said she thinks she's seen two of them
so hopefully there'll be some little Little Owls!

How wonderful! I have only seen a Little Owl once, in an old shed, it didn't seem to be as flighty as a Barn Owl, so hopefully you will be able to get even more lovely photos of him/her/them.

I've only ever seen a Little Owl once, such beautiful birds, and so cute! Hope they are nesting, keep us updated please. (I'm sure dear Bruce will update you too!)

Exciting... I do hope they have little ones.
Don't know if this is true, but someone once told me that only 1 in 100 owls reaches maturity....If that is the case, then your Little Owl is very special.

Wow lucky you, I have only ever seen one other owl au natural and that was one that flew out in front of us one evening when we were walking along a lane.

He's gorgeous. I've never seen a wild Little Owl before.

We have a Barn Owl that sits on the rafters of our barn, the closest I ever got was right in front of it and ...stupid me...I said 'Hello' and away she flew in shock.

I'm no Dr Dolittle obviously!!

I don't have any idea what type of Owl your little one is. It would be wonderful if there were two nesting. Birdman Chris Packham is sure to know... maybe he has a twitter page!

We have them here. Tell your cats to watch out though.... When the babies hatch, the parents are VERY protective and there is NO mistaking the noise of a parent who has spotted a cat below. We have seen our cat being divebombed and chased up the garden in broad daylight at lunchtime one day. On another occasion he had to take refuge under a car whilst the whole family sat on our television ariel.

They are lovely things to have around.

That is so sweet, hope you get to share some shots of little owlettes! Bruce might not appreciate the attention taken away from him though. Have a wonderful week.

How wonderful :o)
I love it when birds of prey come into 'our world'. They're just so majestic, you kinda don't expect them to be so close.
I do hope they're nesting :o)

Got the post today, and will definately try and leave some there too. :o)

Have a great week. xxoo
