a name please. . .

this rather exotic "wildflower" creeper has begun climbing the wall
next to Bruce's stable and I'd love to know what it's called. . .

This is White Bryony - it will have red berries later
I think it may be poisonous but you should check it out

Will have a look in my wild flower book but I think it may be poisonous too. Might be in the same family as Deadly Night Shade.

oh now I feel daft cos last year I asked you all the same question about climbing red berries which were entwined around a tree.
Doh!

I can see that I have been beaten to it! Not as nice as you might think - it has a habit of popping up all over the place if you give it house room. It has a huge root, which it will regrow from if you just cut back the foliage, so you need a big strong man with a spade to dig it up!

I would love them in my yard are they a weed or plant?

It looks like some sort of ivy to me. Some of the photos that I looked at were of poison ivy and oak flowers, close but the leaves are wrong..I agree that further research should be done and approach with caution..Please let us know what you find out. xo

Gill is correct, it is white bryony, and it is poisonous. It can cause convulsions in horses, although black bryony is more deadly to them. The roots look like parsnips or turnips which would be more appealing to a horse than the plant itself. Bruce will have such a nice selection of hay, grass and food on offer to him that he would probably turn his nose up at this, but you may want to dig it out anyway. Abby x

Bit superfluous, but, yes, Bryony - spreads like mad and is poisonous.....

I have no idea, Elaine, never have seen it here.
Reading the comments above it grows fast, I had a weed last year, don't know the name, but it was a hell of a job to get rid of it :-(
Hugs,
Sylvia
