but the sheep didn't know. . .

Far from the Madding Crowd down here in Dorset

they go to great expense

and put iron railings around the trees

as protection from the animals grazing in the fields.

Its just a shame they forgot to tell the animals :)

Aaah! I do so love sheep. Where we live there are few animals in the fields as the countryside is more suitable for market gardening and I really do miss seeing the animals. Lovely photos.

Super photos! I love sheep & indentify with them - not just because they're silly. They are so stoical & long-suffering, especially in Yorkshire on the soggy Moors.

Ha ha ha! Did make me smile, a LOT! Love sheep also, they are silly but so kind and jolly despite some of their conditions in winter etc. x

There's nothing like a fence for encouraging sheep to move up close and squeeze!

Lovely photos, Elaine !
I love sheep too but they always start running when I want to take a picture ...
Today it will be the warmest day ever here, 38-39° !
Nice Sunday,
Sylvia

I don't blame them, with their stifling woolly coats and all!

Mmmmmmmm Far from the Madding Crowd.......one of my favourite all time films, t'was Terrance Stamp that did it. I remember going to the Odeon at the Lansdowne in Bournemouth to see it and being annoyed because the locals kept pointing out the Dorset landmarks (loudly)! Sorry, I digress......... xxxxx
