the MOST beautiful little porcelain ginger grater. . .

On our last holiday day in America we had to go buy another suitcase.
I'd bought so many quilts they wouldn't fit into the bags we'd brought with
(surprise surprise).
Next to TJ Maxx (the same as our TK)
was a little consignment store which just HAD to be visited!
Vintiquing one last time, under threat of death if I bought anything large,
I found this beautiful little porcelain ginger grater and knew it had to
be mine. . .
I use it most mornings to make fresh lemon & ginger tea
and each day it reminds me of that special holiday.
Do you have a favourite holiday memento?
ps sunshine doesn't count!

A really lovely little holiday treasure, and how fun it is something you can use every morning! My favourite holiday souvenir is a "slouk" - camel knife l bought in Marocco years back. Don't think l would be able to stride through customs with it these days :-) Pam

What a sweet little find - love it when that happens, especially when you get to use it every day too.

OH that is very sweet, I would rather like one myself... I usually just hit my ginger with the blunt end of my knife!

What a sweet grater, I have never seen one like that before, just plain old white ones.

Now that you mention it, we haven't been on a proper vacation in so long I can't remember any treasures...That needs to change and will as soon as the Mister gets me that Airstream that I've been 'hinting' about. xo

What a sweet grater, no wonder you bought it home :o)
I bought a bread board home with me from Canada 33 years ago and it's still in daily use, I smile each time I see the makers name burnt into the back of it and remember the wonderful store it came from :o)

I have some 1950s stickers from our first family trip abroad (Hotel Costa Brava!) The suitcase (a hint?) my parents gave me for a 21st birthday present is now vintage too so I've stuck one precious sticker on it and take happy memories with me everywhere I go.

That is so sweet & delicate.
I usually buy a piece of local pottery -like a large salad bowl & enjoy using them.
